About Us
The Carolina Sailing Foundation offers sailing lessons, sailing classes, and racing opportunities for sailing in central North Carolina, primarily at Crosswinds Boating Center on Jordan Lake. We offer sailing camps and lessons for kids, teens, and adults. Our mission is to assist all sailors nine years old and older in learning to sail safely, participating in the sport of sailboat racing and improving sailing and racing skills through our sailing classes. It’s all about learning to sail and having fun!

Sailing and racing instruction for high schoolers. Knowledgable and enthusiastic coaches improve participants’ ability to compete against other high school teams from around the Southeastern US.
Donate Your Sailboat
Did you know that donating your sailboat to the Carolina Sailing Foundation can help provide the experience of sailing to our youth in the Triangle? We are looking for donations of trailerable keelboats or cruisers in good or fair condition. After you provide us information on your sailboat and trailer and we accept your donation, we’ll pick it up, make repairs as needed, and clean it up. We then act as your agent, where we’ve been very successful in selling sailboats quickly. Many of our adult students are seeking a sailboat and we also provide them assistance in rigging and learning to sail the boat.
We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. When the sale is completed, we’ll provide you a receipt of your donation so you can take a tax deduction. Every dollar of the sale goes directly into our sailing programs.
