Junior sailing is available for sailors 9 to 14 years old on Monday evenings from 4:30 until dusk at Crosswinds Boating Center on Jordan Lake.  Conditions can sometimes be a little challenging in the spring, with cool weather and brisk winds.  We want beginner sailors to have the best possible first sailing experience, so Spring Junior Sailing is open only to sailors who have sailed with us before, and we ask new sailors to please join us for Sailing Summer Camp!

Younger sailors sail in the single-person Opti prams and older sailors are in the two-person 420s.  Coaches are always on the water in powerboats with the sailors. Sailors will need Coast Guard approved life jackets, preferably designed for sailing, close-toed water shoes, preferably NOT Crocs, and a water bottle.  In cooler weather, sailors may appreciate a wetsuit and neoprene booties.

Sailing in the spring of 2025 will start on March 31 and will end on May 19.  Cost for the spring season is $140 for the eight weekly practices.
