Talk and Share
Let people know that quality sailing instruction, activities and racing is available right here in Central North Carolina. The newly updated CSF website is full of information and ways to contact volunteer leaders.

CSF offers junior sailing programs for children eight to 12, a high school sailing team and racing events for students in grades 8 – 12 and adult sailing programs for those wanting time on the water.

Make a Donation
Make a tax-deductible contribution to CSF. The Foundation covers all program costs through student registration fees which helps keep classes and camps affordable and accessible to all interested participants. Capital expenditures like boats, repairs and equipment are paid for through donations as are sailing scholarships, grants and regatta support.

The 2009 fundraising goal is $10,000. To date, $1,475 has been raised. CSF now accepts online donations through a secure, non-profit website. You can also donate by writing and mailing a check. Write a check to Carolina Sailing Foundation, indicate it’s a donation and mail it to Angela Peterson, CSF Treasurer, 1205 Gopher Lane, Raleigh, NC 27502.

If you have fundraising or grant writing experience and would like to help CSF, contact John Norton.

Donate a Boat
CSF accepts the tax-deductible donation of a working boat or one that needs manageable repairs. Working vessels will be immediately adopted into the CSF fleet. Boats that need repairs will be cleaned, fixed and determined whether it will be put to use or sold. If sold, all proceeds will be used to purchase a more suitable boat for the CSF program. To donate a boat, contact John Norton.

Teach a Class
If you’re a small-boat sailor and comfortable driving a small motorboat, join our team as a US Sailing Certified Small Boat Sailing Instructor. We need people to teach junior, high school and adult programs.

To learn about the US Sailing Level 1 Instructor Course, visit http://www.ussailing.org/training/coaching/index.htm for class descriptions and dates.

Volunteer
CSF welcomes all help and support and there are a lot of opportunities to get involved in Foundation activities. From towing boats to taking pictures for our website, CSF needs all types of volunteers to keep our programs and events running smoothly. We are actively recruiting volunteers for marketing needs, database development, fundraising and planning. Depending on your interest, talents and schedule, CSF has a place for you to volunteer. To get involved, contact John Norton.
